Children's speech and language therapy service

This is a NHS team of speech and language therapists and support workers who provide episodes of care to children and young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The team offer a range of services which deliver in time – limited episodes of care.  They support children and young people who have difficulties with:

• Speech, language and communication skills
• Eating, drinking and swallowing skills

The service works closely with families, parents and carers to improve children and young people’s progress in these areas and to ensure that their potential for learning , social and emotional development is reached.

If a child meets the referral criteria a referral can be made to the  service by

• the parent or carer; or
• Schools, nurseries, other educational settings
